Stop! That! Train! (2026) Plot Summary

In Stop! That! Train! (2026), best friends Tess and DeeDee leave their dreary rail jobs behind for the glitzy Glamazonian Express, only to find themselves outmatched by snobbish first-class attendants and a wildly unstable luxury train. Directed by Adam Shankman, the film follows the pair as a catastrophic “Stormaganza” threatens to send the high-speed train toward disaster, forcing coach and first class to work with President Gagwell before the chaos reaches Celebration, Florida. Blending action comedy, disaster spoof, and campy drag comedy, Stop! That! Train! uses workplace rivalry and queer performance culture as the basis for a broad, fast-moving parody of crisis spectacle.

Who Will Enjoy Stop! That! Train!?

Fans of drag humor and quirky disaster spoofs will find a lot to love. It’s particularly suited to RuPaul fans and viewers open to campy, LGBTQ-centered comedy.

Watch if:

  • You enjoy broad spoof comedies built around escalating chaos, rapid-fire jokes, and exaggerated characters.
  • You value campy, drag-centered comedy that highlights performance and theatricality.
  • You’re open to action-comedy set pieces that favor absurd momentum over realism or tight plausibility.
  • You don’t need subtle humor or a grounded disaster-movie framework.
  • You’re interested in a queer, drag parody that blends action and humor.

Skip if:

  • You prefer comedies with dry wit or naturalistic characters.
  • You need a tightly plotted story where the action mechanics matter as much as the jokes.
  • You get frustrated by loud comedy and dialogue, or unrealistic plot devices.
  • You’re looking for a conventional disaster thriller rather than a drag-inflected spoof.
  • You dislike camp-heavy humor that leans into excess, parody, and theatrics.

Stop! That! Train! Mini Review

Stop! That! Train! embraces a vibrant, spunky universe with quirky, likable characters and abundant drag humor. Unfortunately, it becomes a bit tiresome when every line is a bit, but only a handful land.

Furthermore, while it isn’t particularly dependent on quality visuals, the CGI is notably goofy, reminiscent of a bygone era. Though it fits the overall vibe, a little more effort should be customary for a modern theatrical release.

Criticism aside, it feels like a lot of heart and fun went into both the script and acting. It’s a niche, low-budget film with a handful of laughs that fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race will love.
