Spoiler-Free Movie Reviews for the Newest Releases

I venture to the local Cinemark movie theater at least once a week and review every new release I see. I do my best to be honest and fair while helping readers gauge whether or not they will enjoy it.

All my reviews are spoiler-free and designed to evaluate movie elements (writing, acting, score, etc.) without giving anything away. Thus, my reviews do not contain summaries or scene descriptions.

My intent is simply to answer:
“Is this movie worth seeing?”

Raw reviews are written within 48 hours of seeing the movie and are weighted toward my initial impression (they tend to be emotional rather than analytical). Digested reviews are written after 48 hours or after a rewatch and may contain research. For in-depth analysis and exploration of subplots, themes, and more, check out “Deep Dives.”

  • Dracula: A Love Tale – Raw Review
Shakespeare meets Willy Wonka and takes the conversation far too seriously amid a deceptively aesthetic Gothic-Victorian playground.
  • The Room Next Door – Raw Review
The talented and charismatic duo of Moore and Swinton squeezes the last dregs from a dry script that reduces complex and substantive moral deliberations to a boneless broth.
