This question and its equally annoying variants tend to come up a lot.

> Job interviews with employers never planning to hire.

> Nosy family members pretending they remember you exist outside Christmas.

> Acquaintances trying to fast-track their way to friendship.

We’re so obsessed with planning for the future and being the right version of ourselves for some projected outcome we’re never guaranteed to actualize.

Fuck that.

Let’s live in the now.
